Swimming has started!

We had our first day of swimming today. Thank you to all the wonderful parents that have offered to come along. We now have enough helpers for each of the days!

Swimming Helpers needed

Dear Room 9 Mum's and Dad's

THANK YOU so much to those parents that have volunteered to come with us to swimming next week. I have attached a photo of the helper roster. I will also send home a paper copy to those parents that have volunteered.

We still need at least one more parent for our first two sessions on Wednesday the 28th of February, and Thursday the 1st of March. If you are available could you please e-mail me. Thank you!

Here are some examples of the wonderful art that we did with John at the Art Gallery last week. We will be sharing them all at our upcoming assembly in Week 6.

The aliens have landed!

We have been invaded by aliens in Room 9.  Here are photos of some of the many that have made it onto the walls in Room 9.

Mum's and Dad's, can you work out which aliens belong to your children. Inside each picture is a hidden name. Come into our classroom to have a look at them all.

Collaborating on the ipads

Today we started using book creator to publish our bio poems. We worked with a buddy, so that we could help each other out and give each other tips and ideas.

Budding Artists at the Public Gallery

Today we visited John at the Dunedin Public Art Gallery. He took us on a tour of the gallery and discussed some of the artworks with us. We then got to go up to the education room, where we painted and coloured our own artworks.

We will be sharing these at our upcoming assembly in Week 6!

We looked at a sculpture made completely out of wood. Even the concrete blocks the car was set on were made out of wood! The artist managed to fool us.

Our art gallery trip is coming up tomorrow

We will be going to the art gallery in the morning. It is important that everyone is at school on time. Thank you to those mums and dads (and grandads!) that have offered to come with us.
We look forward to posting some pictures of our fabulous creations.

Meet the Teacher Evening
